Un mondo dove non c'è distanza tra esso e la nostra conoscenza di esso. Come poi parlarne. Quando vengono minate le fondamenta della società e ridotti gli spazi di esistenza. Forse siamo rimasti completamente concentrati sull'accordatura di noi stessi, come si accorda uno strumento per raggiungere la precisione. First Things 1st è il primo capitolo di cinque posizioni. In questa iterazione, Getman usa parole e picchi tra ciò che viene detto e ciò che viene detto tra le righe. Materia, forma, azione, oggetto e rappresentazione, comandamento e richiesta, nulla e nulla. Mattone dopo mattone, un tentativo personale di toccare l'umano: una trappola visibile.

Michael Getman è un coreografo e performer nato in Israele da genitori russi/ebrei Dora Karolin e Zachariah Getman. Al termine della sua formazione professionale presso il Bat Dor sotto la direzione della signora Janet Ordman, è stato invitato a unirsi al Batsheva Ensemble sotto la direzione di Naomi Perlov e poi ha ballato nel Batsheva Ensemble sotto la direzione artistica di Ohad Naharin. Si è poi unito al Pretty Ugly Ballet Freiburg sotto la direzione artistica di Amanda K. Miller. Ha lavorato e interpretato opere di coreografi tra cui Ohad Naharin, Amanda K. Miller, Marguerite Donlon, Orjan Andersson e William Forsythe. Michael osserva ed è curioso della relazione tra le nostre azioni corporee, le risposte cognitive, le esperienze soggettive e la capacità di rispondere alle continue richieste dell'esperienza con una serie di emozioni. Le sue opere sono state presentate in vari festival e sedi in tutto il mondo. Michael amplia la sua ricerca artistica collaborando con artisti del campo del teatro, della danza e delle arti visive e attualmente sta lavorando alla sua ricerca MA presso l'Università di Huddersfield, in Inghilterra.

A world where there is no distance between it and our knowledge of it. How then to speak about it. When the foundations of society are undermined, and spaces of existence are reduced. Perhaps we are left to be entirely focused on tuning ourselves inward, as one tunes an instrument to achieve precision.
 First things 1st is the first chapter out of five stances. In this iteration, Getman uses words and peaks between what is being said and what is said between the lines. Matter, form, action, object and representation, commandment and request, nothingness and Nothing. Brick by brick, a personal attempt to touch the humane - a visible trap.

Michael Getman is a choreographer and performer born in Israel to Russian/Jewish parents Dora Karolin and Zachariah Getman. Upon completion of his professional training at the Bat Dor under the direction of Mrs. Janet Ordman, he was invited to join the Batsheva Ensemble under the direction of Naomi Perlov and then danced in the Batsheva Ensemble under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin. He then joined the Pretty Ugly Ballet Freiburg under the artistic direction of Amanda K Miller. He has worked with and interpreted works by choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Amanda K. Miller, Marguerite Donlon, Orjan Andersson, and William Forsythe. Michael examines and is curious about the relationship between our bodily actions, cognitive responses, subjective experiences, and the ability to respond to the ongoing demands of experience with a range of emotions. His works have been presented in various festivals and venues around the world. Michael expands his artistic search and research by collaborating with artists from the field of theatre, dance and the visual arts and currently working on his MA research at the University of Huddersfield, England.
